|This paper has firstly discussed the significance of the research on the environment evolution from the lakes of monsoon region in the historical period．in which the quantitative reconstruction of the proxies and the study on the human interaction with the nature have been treated as the key points in this field.The authors have also put forward some questions which should be paid m uch m ore attention and be solved in the field of palaeolimnolugy and past global change study,e,g,the energy and m oisture interrelation in the different monsoon rigion under glacia/interglacial cycle,the cold climate event in the past climate etc and how to distinguish the human impact on the lake records.The past studies have shown that the southwest monsoon region was generally characterized by cold-wet climate in the Post-Glacia1 and warm-dry clim ate in Holocene,whereas the southeast monsoon region， dry in Post-Glacial and wet in Holocene． In addition，a series of cold climate events did exist since the post-Glacia1．The authors have provided some preliminary analysis on these phenomena.As for the study on the human interaction with the nature,the author suggest that the change in the proxies caused by the human activities must be recognized and correspondi g1y, the relation between the paIaeoenvironment change and human activities need to be cleared out.This will helpful for the reasonable utilization of Iake resource in the future.
