Seed germination rates of Potamogeton pectinatus were studied under the condition of nature in plants stands and different treatments in the laboratory. The results showed that seed germination rates of P. pectinatus were greatly increased hy the treatment of cutting seed coat, alternating temperature, stratification or acid with 0.5mg/L H2S04. The treatment with KNO3, GA and thiourea (H2NCSNH2) cannot markedly increase seed germination rate. In addition, the ways of culturing P. pectinatus for restoration of aquatic vegetation were put forward according to the results of these experiments.
