The search for theories and practice of watershed management not only helps to understand the impersonal rule of watershed evolvement, helps to improve the manage efficiency, the search can also provides useful references for working up and perfecting the science and practice of integrated watershed management. The paper reviews the development history of watershed management firstly, then analysis the situation and main problems of the management. On the base of summarizing and analysis, the trends of the management in the future are introduced, i.e. bring the resources, environment and economic development of watershed in line;founding an effective new system and mechanism of integrated watershed management;synthetical and multidisciplinary studing of the problems in the watershed;and applying the advanced technique.
