Water resource deficiency resulted from aggravating water pollution of the Guangzhou section of Pearl River has been one of the important factors that limit the sustainable development of Guangzhou.Based on the assessment of the water environmental quality, this paper analyzed the major causes of the water environmental pollution in the Guangzhou section of Pearl River, and thus suggested the measures for protecting the water environment of the the Guangzhou section of Pearl River.
