Based on the characteristics of flood evolution, water regime in the Taihu Basin and the task of flood control, the flood regulation scheme of the Taihu Basin has been formulated and carried out in recent ears.The flood regulation scheme should be perfected with changing landscape situations in the Basin.The benefits of flood control and waterlogging protect of harnessing projects in the Taihu Basin are distinct.A further amendment of the flood regulation scheme is required by the flood control practice.
