By analysing the current situation, the trend of variation, and the spatial distribution features of algae based on the monitoring data of water quality in Taihu Lake from 1980 to 1994.this paper probes into the causes of water pollution and the fromation of eutrophication in Taihu Lake, and puts forward some strategies to protect water quality and prevent the lake from being polluted.
