This study conducted to investigate the early resources of the fish with pelagic eggs in the upstream of Danjiangkou Reservoir in 2014. 14 species were collected and the main species were Squalidus argentatus, Saurogobio dabryi, Parabotia fasciata, Hemiculter leucisclus and Culter mongolicus mongolicus. 64 eggs of the four major Chinese carps were collected, accounted for 1.02%. Compared with the results of 1977 and 1993, the number of the spawning sites reduced by 6, the size and location of the spawning sites have also changed. The total amount of pelagic eggs in the upstream of Danjiangkou Reservoir decreased from 174.59 billion in 1977 to 4555.03 million in 2014. The eggs of four major Chinese carps also decreased from 17.13 billion to 42.95 million and the proportion decreased from 9.81% to 0.94%.
